1. Introduction

Nandu Nai ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to the Nandu Nai mobile application for Android (package name: com.nandunai.app), our website at nandunai.com, and related salon booking services operated from India.

It explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, how you can control your data, and how to request account deletion. By using Nandu Nai, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Who We Are (Data Controller)

Nandu Nai is a salon and beauty parlour booking platform. It is not a medical, telehealth, or regulated health services app.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only information needed to run the booking platform:

Account & profile: name, phone number, email (if provided for password recovery), role (customer, stylist, owner, or admin), profile photo (if uploaded)
Location: city, area, or GPS coordinates to show nearby salons and maps (only with your permission)
Bookings & app activity: services booked, time slots, stylist choice, walk-in queue status, home-service address, booking history, favourites, and in-app actions related to appointments
Reviews & ratings: star ratings and comments you submit for salons or stylists after a visit
Payments: payment status and method preference (cash, UPI declared, etc.) — we do not store your UPI PIN, full card numbers, or bank passwords
Photos & camera: salon images uploaded by owners; selfies submitted for Style AI suggestions (processed for recommendations only, not shown publicly as style previews)
Notifications: device push notification token (if you enable notifications)
Device & technical data: app version, device type, operating system, and basic error logs to fix bugs and improve performance

We do not collect your Advertising ID (GAID), do not show third-party ads, and do not sell your personal data.

4. Device Permissions

The Android app may request the following permissions. You can deny or revoke them in your device settings (some features may not work without them):

Location: to find salons near you and show them on the map (only when you allow)
Camera: for Style AI face scan and taking salon photos (only when you allow)
Photo picker: gallery images are chosen through the Android system picker — we do not request broad storage access
Notifications: to send booking reminders and appointment updates (optional)
Internet: to connect to our servers for login, booking, and payments

We do not request microphone, advertising ID, or broad file-storage permissions.

5. How We Use Your Information

Create and manage your account and login (including email-based password reset)
Show relevant salons, maps, and availability
Complete and manage bookings, walk-in queue, and home service visits
Share appointment details with the salon or stylist you choose
Send booking updates and push notifications (where enabled)
Operate owner and stylist dashboards
Improve features, prevent fraud, and keep the platform secure

6. Sharing of Information

We share only what is needed to complete your booking:

Salons & stylists you book: name, phone, appointment time, services, home address (for home visits), and style notes
Salon owners: staff schedules, business data, and bookings for salons they manage
Service providers: cloud hosting, database (MongoDB Atlas), email delivery (Hostinger SMTP), and Google Maps — only as needed to operate the app

We do not sell or rent your personal data to advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by Indian law, a valid court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the platform.

7. Advertising & Tracking

Nandu Nai does not display third-party advertisements and does not use the Android Advertising ID (GAID) for tracking or marketing. We do not use cross-app tracking for advertising purposes.

8. Data Storage & Security

Account and booking data is stored on secure cloud databases (MongoDB Atlas). Salon photos may be stored on our servers in India. Passwords are stored in hashed form. We use HTTPS for API communication. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we review our practices regularly and work to protect your information.

9. Account & Data Deletion

Nandu Nai allows users to create an account. You can request permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time — from inside the app or on the web (you do not need to reinstall the app).

In the Nandu Nai Android app (instant deletion):

Open Account
Under Privacy & data, tap Delete account & data
Tap Delete now, confirm, and enter your password — your account and personal data are permanently removed immediately

You may also use Website or Email from the same screen if you prefer a support-assisted request.

On the web (without the app):

Include your registered phone number and full name so we can verify your account
We process email requests within 30 days (in-app deletion is immediate)

What we delete: account profile, booking history linked to your account, notification tokens, favourites, app settings, reviews linked to your account, and Style AI selfies you submitted.

What we may keep: limited records required by Indian law, tax, fraud prevention, or dispute resolution (for example anonymised completed transaction records for salon owners). Temporary deactivation or “freezing” an account does not count as deletion. Retained data is not sold to advertisers.

10. Your Choices & Rights

You can:

Update your profile details in the app
Turn off location or notifications in your device settings
Cancel upcoming bookings as per our Terms & Conditions
Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing support@nandunai.com

We will respond to privacy requests within a reasonable time, in line with applicable Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), where applicable.

11. Retention

We retain account and booking records for as long as your account is active and as needed for operations, legal compliance, tax, and dispute resolution. When you request deletion, we delete or anonymise personal data within 30 days unless a longer retention period is required by law.

12. Children

Nandu Nai is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact support@nandunai.com to request deletion.

13. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate Nandu Nai. When you use these features, their privacy policies also apply:

Google Maps — maps and location display (Google Privacy Policy)
UPI / payment apps — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc. opened on your device for payment (we do not receive your UPI PIN)
Email delivery — Hostinger SMTP for password reset and notifications
Cloud hosting & database — secure servers and MongoDB Atlas for app data

14. Style AI & Health Disclaimer

Style AI provides hairstyle and grooming suggestions based on face-shape analysis. Results are indicative only — not medical, dermatological, or professional advice. Nandu Nai does not provide diagnosis, treatment, telehealth, or any regulated health services.

15. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at https://nandunai.com/privacy.html and inside the app (Account → Privacy policy). The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we revise this page. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
