This book is a bench text for salon staff who mix, test and sell cosmetic products. It teaches the arithmetic of percent w/w, the four phases, emulsifier and surfactant systems, preservation, actives, pH, stability, packaging and the claims a cosmetic may make. It is teaching, not a licence to sell. Every dose in these pages is a starting point that must be checked against the supplier technical sheet and the rules of the market where the product will be sold. The formulas are examples for learning, and each one closes at 100.00 so the arithmetic can be followed line by line. Nothing here is medical advice, and no formula in this book contains a steroid, hydroquinone, mercury or tretinoin. Read the chapter, weigh the example, write the record, and test before you promise anything or sell anything.
